Asoke 1.4.14 New Year!

Hey Family!

Dad, your story was hilarious.  Remember that time we went skiing at Brianhead years ago and you wiped out dropping off that ledge?  You launched out of your bindings and flipped end over end.  Classic.

Yes, Sam, I'm nervous, excited, and bummed to be this close to finishing my mission.  So much so that I avoid thinking about it at all costs.

This week was pretty nuts.  We had MLC (aka stress emergency) and a mini moves (logistics nightmare).  In the end we spent some long days at the office getting stuff ready.

For MLC we put a video together of us interviewing certain church leaders to know how we can better work together.  So we visited the Stake President to videotape his responses.  We planned on being there about 30 minutes.  But then the Stake President offered to order us a pizza.  We didn't refuse.  Then after we ate pizza he asked us to give his mother a blessing.  She is currently fighting cancer.  So E. Harris anointed and I sealed it and offered the blessing.  Then we filmed him answering the questions we had.  Our 30 minute meeting turned out to be 2 hours.  I feel like we had our plan but the Lord had His plan.  His plan was for us to lift the spirits of the Stake President and his wife not just hold an interview.  It was a neat experience.

Despite the crazy week in the office we were able to get out and do some wicked Dan Jones-ing at Lumpini Park.  Normally when we plan in Dan Jones time, something comes up and we can't go.  Well Wednesday after planning we prayed that the Lord would send the prepared people to Lumpini Park between the hours of 3pm and 5pm.  Now we had to go!  We were committed.  Thursday.  We  worked frantically to finish one of our projects.  We weren't quite done yet when 3 rolled around.  So we told President that we were going contacting and that we'd finish it tomorrow.  I think he was a little surprised but pleased as well.  So we got to the park around 3:30, a little late but better than usual.  We prayed asking the Lord to lead us to the elect.  Then we started talking to everyone.  In my mind I was looking for people who looked like they had just sort of wandered into the park.  We found 8 or so great potentials who want to learn more and one of them is coming to church with us today.  I don't know why we don't do this everyday.  This work is 4 times more effective when you ask the Lord trusting that He will bless you and lead you.

Good news: S. View and B. James are getting baptized today!  Woohoo!  I'll send pictures next week.

Thailand is rocking.  Miracles are happening.  The work is hastening.

Much Love
