Oh Mylanta.
Hey Family!
This week went fast. Way fast. One whole day was
spent in the office knocking out our pre-transfer assignments. It was
long. My eyes hurt after staring at computer screens for so long.
We were able to teach quite a few awesome investigators though. One
girl we met back in January randomly called us wanting to meet. She now
has a baptismal date. This other cat we met last month came back from
Phuket this week too. His phone stopped working in Phuket or something so
we weren't able to contact him at all. So we met him and taught him
everything. He says he can feel the difference at our church. If
all goes well, he will get baptized today. If it doesn't go as planned he
will get baptized later this month in Phuket. I love miracles. I love
teaching people that want to change their lives. That is what the Gospel
of Jesus Christ does. It changes our lives, it changes us into
saints. We also taught this woman and her brother. As we taught
them about repentance we taught the Word of Wisdom as well. The brother,
Gae, is a smoker but has tried to quit multiple times. We invited him to
rely on Christ and quit. He committed. Then we had him throw away
the cigarettes he had left along with his lighter. So he did. He is
committed to change. That is what the Gospel is all about. Change
and improvement through the Atonement of Christ.
Saturday Morning: Baptism! S. Ice was baptized.
Because she quit her job, she will now be able to go to church with her
aunt in Bangkapi. So we drove out there to see her baptized. She
has amazing faith! Her parents, who are still Buddhist, even went to
support her. Holler!
Luxury Lunch: President Senior and Sister Senior took
us, the 4 assistants, out to lunch...at the JW Marriott buffet. Holy
fancy. It was delicious. We stuffed ourselves with salad, rolls,
mashed potatoes, meats, and ice cream. I was in heaven. I love ice
cream. A lot.
I bought 2 suits. One is a fancy wool one. Yes.
The other has a zebra-print lining. Double yes. Don't worry I
didn't get anymore shorts cut. I also bought hecka dayz worth of
souvenirs. Yeah buddy.
Well this is my last email. Dang. The Book of
Mormon is a true witness of Jesus Christ. It testifies of Christ's
mission and His divinity. By studying and pondering its words each day we
will know how to follow Christ, be cleansed from sin, and achieve salvation.
The Book of Mormon is evidence that Joseph Smith is called of God to
restore lost truths about Christ's church and gospel. It is evidence that
essential priesthood authority was lost and again restored through a new
prophet. I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. I believe it with
all my heart. My Father in Heaven has confirmed my belief with a personal
witness from the Holy Ghost. I cannot deny it. The Book of Mormon
is real, it is true, I know it. I am so grateful for the time I have been
given to share this testimony with the people of Thailand. I love them.
