Internships. For the past 9 months I have fretted and sweated about finding one. I applied and applied and applied. SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, JPL, Sandia National Labs, United Launch Alliance, Boeing, Orbital ATK, Raytheon, BAE Systems. They denied and denied and denied.
In a nutshell: it sucked.
I was beginning the summer feeling like a failure. I was bummed. But I honestly believe the Lord had a different path laid out for me. A few weeks ago I heard back from a BYU research group that I had applied to. They wanted me to work with them over the summer and possibly on into the next year. AKA I was accepted. Accepted to work on a research group that is going to build a satellite. Yes. A satellite that will go into space. As in, it will ride a rocket with flames shooting out of it up into the sky until there is no more sky. And I get to help build it. My internship failures aren't looking too bad after all. Actually I am glad I got rejected otherwise I wouldn't have this opportunity. And this opportunity ROCKS.
The Lord has a plan for us. Many times we don't see it immediately. But he does.
Sometimes it takes a lot of rejection by the wrong people to get accepted by the right people.
Huh, maybe that will be my new mantra in dating...
